TECHNICAL

Technical means playing a high difficulty map with Rhythm League approved music to your greatest accuracy potential.

Technical is played in first-person and you’ll only face other players of your game.

Supported Game Events

Each game is treated as its own event, meaning you only compete against other players in that game.

If the game isn’t listed here, it is not currently supported for Technical. We hope to add more games in the future.

Event-Specific Rules

  • Applications are not final submissions. If selected as one of the finalists, competitors will have the opportunity to further hone and maximize their performances during the final application period.

  • Applicants must submit through the application page and accept the terms and conditions.

  • Maps must use approved music.

    • Reworking a pre-existing map with approved music is allowed and encouraged.

      • All mappers must be credited on the audition form. If reworking a map, the original mapper(s) must be credited.

  • There are no time limits for application. Please note only “highlights” of technical submission finalists will be aired during the Season 0 live show due to time constraints.

  • Standard game accuracy rules are 50% of score.

    • For Beat Saber, performances must have at least an SS/90%+ accuracy score to submit.

    • Other game score requirements TBD, but expect similar scaling to encourage high accuracy.

    • A perfect accuracy score of 100% is a 10, with a 5 based on the average accuracy of submissions.

  • The difficulty of the map is 50% of score - a pool of judges will play all submissions, and the judge’s accuracy scores for each map will be averaged to determine a difficulty metric to contrast submissions. The most difficult song will receive a 10, with a 5 based on the average difficulty of submissions.

  • Based on these scoring metrics, it is possible to win with a more difficult map/lower accuracy score, if the map’s difficulty rating is substantively higher than their competitor’s.

Inspiration videos are not perfect examples and almost never fully comply with Rhythm League rules. They’re just here to give you ideas. Remember to review the rules carefully.

Scoring

You’ll receive 1-10 points in each category, with 5 being “typical among other entries in this event.” That score is then multiplied by a percentage weight. The best possible score is 100%. For more details on ranked-choice scoring, please review the FAQ.

The scoring system is subject to change.
